Designer's Background

As a licensed building practitioner with a Design 2 license, I hold over 25 years experience in residential and light commercial Architecture.
After initially manual drawing board drafting, I up skilled in 2005 to CAD drawing (Computer Aided Drafting).
The projects I have been involved with are not only around the Taupo area but extend throughout other areas of New Zealand.

joinery, wall cladding, roof cladding, interior features, kitchen layouts.

Tips on utilizing your section

As a designer, it is important to bring together your wish list and make the best of
your site with a functional layout, that is practical and comfortable.

  • Living areas should ideally be facing North where possible
  • Outdoor living areas flowing easily
  • Consider views
  • Location of windows; maximizing sun with consideration of privacy
  • Street access
  • Consider landscaping ideas
  • Take note of the location of your neighbours living  and outdoor areas

Tips on renovations

Consider your likes and dislikes in the existing home:

  • Layout/configuration of rooms
  • Size of rooms
  • How the existing home functions
  • Sun
  • Views
  • What you like about the existing home
  • Points you dislike about the existing home
  • To what extent do you want to change?
